containers for massive innovationGlobal Summit on Social Responsibility The Global Summit on Social Responsibility was held in 2008 with more than 800 executives from around the world united in their visions for a better future that created a roadmap for a social responsibility movement in the association profession. Nineteen “connected sites” across the United States and around the world allowed 400 plus people to participate live through technology, bringing global perspective from a wide range of stakeholders to the Summit in real time. The Houston, Texas community came together in 2009 for a summit on Healthy Kids, Healthy Schools: Leveraging the Power of Our Community. Community leaders and stakeholders from every corner of Houston collaborated with the Houston Independent School District to envision a new national model for improving student nutrition and physical activity. In 2004, World Vision embarked on a strategic planning process to identify goals and priorities for guiding the organization into the future. 150 of the organization’s leaders, donors, and partners met in Bangkok for an Appreciative Inquiry (AI) Summit, engaging 4000 employees and stakeholders in a groundbreaking and highly successful “virtual summit” process. |
